Is there on-going mentorship?

Your successful experience is of paramount importance to the sustainability of the MAC program. Questions and challenges that arise during your time in council can be addressed by our faculty during one-on-one mentorships. Each graduate is entitled to 1 session (up to 50 minutes) of free mentorship following the completion of Level 2 Training. Subsequent mentorship or program coaching can be scheduled with a MWB faculty member at a cost of $45 per hour.

How do I qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Only courses for professionals have CEU options and are included in the cost of each course. CEUs are accredited by the Board of Behavioral Sciences for LMFT’s and LCSW’s with the State of California (Provider #PCE4940). You will need to check with your own country or state to verify if applicable for use outside of California. We cannot guarantee CEUs will apply to your professional board and no reimbursements will be provided. You can register for CEUs at any point until the course begins. One CEU will be provided for every one hour of class time. Participants will be required to fill out a Continuing Education Assessment form provided by MWB and will receive CEU credits, once approved.

Mindful Educator Certification Training

What are the prerequisites for the Mindful Educator Online Certification Training?

Completion of Mindful 365 is a prerequisite for participation in Mindful Educator Online Certification Training. It is suggested that Mindful Educator is best suited to those who teach or wish to teach the topic of mindfulness and social-emotional literacy to youth or adults aged 15+.

What is the course description for Mindful Educator?

How can we bring mindfulness to classrooms, work, and community? With the foundations of social and emotional learning (SEL) and mindfulness in place (Level One), this online training provides specific instruction on the Mindfulness Ambassador Council (MAC). The MAC is a 12-week intervention that addresses the skills individuals need to support their healthy development and contribute in positive ways to their community. Skills tied to this program include focused attention, emotion and behavior regulation, perspective taking, critical thinking and conflict management. After the successful completion of Mindful 365 and Mindful Educator, online graduates will be equipped with the key resources to apply the MAC to their respective constituencies and become a MAC Certified Instructor.

Topics covered: council facilitation skills, MAC principles and teaching strategies, MAC lesson plans, self-care practices for personal and professional well-being, MWB operational guidelines and terms of agreement of a MAC Certified Facilitator.

What are the Mindful Educator Learning Objectives?
  • Learn techniques and strategies to successfully facilitate the Mindfulness Ambassador Council with your constituencies.
  • Develop communication and leadership skills to be a more caring, connected and effective facilitator.
  • Build and maintain a personal mindfulness practice to improve attention, self awareness, self-regulation and social awareness.
  • Embody and practice values and virtues implicit in the MAC, demonstrating the concept of mindful living to the world.
What is the scope of my certification?

The successful completion of the two-level online course certifies participants to facilitate the full 12-week Mindfulness Ambassador Council Program (MAC) as it is to their own clients and external organizations. Certified MAC Facilitators from our training programs are not able to directly train, teach and/or certify others. Successful completion of this certification training does not consider MAC Graduate Facilitators as employees of MWB and does not guarantee working as a facilitator for MWB.

As part of the training, participants have access to MWB’s educational materials but are not entitled to replicate, reproduce or modify the MAC Student Guidebook, MAC Facilitator Guidebook, lesson plans, handouts, and questionnaires without the express permission of Mindfulness Without Borders. Mindfulness Without Borders retains all intellectual property rights to the Mindfulness Ambassador Council Student and Facilitator Guidebooks. Graduates will also be required to comply with MWB’s terms of agreement and intellectual property rights. Signed agreements must be received in full before participants will be permitted to purchase guidebooks.

As a MAC Facilitator, can I charge for my services?

If you choose to use the program commercially and are generating revenue from operations and registrations of the program, MWB would like to appeal to your spirit of philanthropy and donate a portion of this revenue back to MWB to assist us in continuing with our charitable activities. Tax- deductible receipts will be provided for such donations.

How do I become a Certified Trainer of MWB programs?

After the successful completion of Levels One and Two, participants will be certified to lead the Mindfulness Ambassador Council. To ensure program integrity, graduates will be required to utilize the Mindfulness Ambassador Council curriculum as outlined in the Student and Facilitator Guidebooks. As part of the training, participants have access to MWB’s educational materials but are not entitled to replicate, reproduce or modify the MAC Student Guidebook, MAC Facilitator Guidebook, lesson plans, handouts, and questionnaires without the express permission of Mindfulness Without Borders. How do I evaluate the success of my MAC?

There are two ways to gauge the learning that took place – by evaluating the participant experience as well as your own! Participant feedback is collected through the completion of the MAC Evaluation form during your last MAC lesson. Facilitator feedback will be collected through the completion of the Council Wrap Up Form.
These forms will help shape our understanding of what is taking place in your MAC, as well as give some direction to how MWB faculty may help provide further mentorship.
